Donovan McNabb Vs. Michael Vick: Who Are You Pulling For?
This Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles host the Washington Redskins in an NFC East showdown with a monster story taking the lead: Donovan McNabb vs. Michael Vick. It will be McNabb’s first trip back to Philly since the Eagles shipped the 11-year veteran to the rival Redskins during the off-season. It will also be a game where Michael Vick starts his third game as quarterback and continues his amazing comeback story. It is also the position McNabb held for so long—he played mentor to Vick when he returned to the NFL after being incarcerated for two years stemming from dog fighting charges.
It’ll be interesting to see how Philadelphia receives McNabb when he returns. Remember, this is a city that booed McNabb on draft day as they wanted RB Ricky Williams to come to the city of brotherly love (imagine how that would have turned out). Even though McNabb pulled off some remarkable things in his 11 years as the Eagles QB (6x Pro Bowler, five NFC title games and a Super Bowl appearance), somehow he was always was unappreciated by the city and the team, and ultimately discarded like a useless toy. I’m sure McNabb would love nothing more than to demolish his former team with a phenomenal game.
On the other side you have Michael Vick. A quarterback who many thought was done as an NFL starter after being locked up for two years. But here he is, in the position McNabb held. He leapfrogged over Kevin Kolb and exploded on the scene with a 2-0 record in his starts, putting up numbers like a Pro Bowler (750 yards, 6 TDs, 0 interceptions). He’s also running the ball like he’s at Virginia Tech all over again (170 yards rushing and a touchdown). And now he’ll be playing in the house McNabb built.
Make no mistake about it: As well as Vick’s been playing, this is all about Donovan McNabb and the city that kicked him to the curb like rappers giving the boot to Kat Stacks. Now it’s up to McNabb to put his team on blast and prove they made the wrong move. Vick will certainly have something to say about that.
Who will you be rooting for?

Even though a lot of fans gave McNabb crap I’ve always respected him and i still do and i was loyal to him in the 10 years he was our QB he was my favorite player actually and think he was the greatest QB in the Eagles history and will be a hall of famer someday but if Vick can surpass Donovan and Randell and win us the big one he will take that crown so with that in mind i’m an Eagles fan first before anything so i’m definitely pulling for Michael Vick. GO BIRDS!!!!
