Bruce Willis Will Have Fans Seeing Red

As if there aren’t enough film adaptations of comic books both popular and little-known, upcoming action/comedy thriller Red is coming to theaters.

Based on the 2003 mini-series created by writer Warren Ellis, Red will focus on Paul Moses (played by Bruce Willis), a retired CIA agent. Moses is trying to lead a peaceful life, but the secrets he learns while in the field make him a liability to the government. The film takes it’s title from the government’s description of Moses as ‘retired, extremely dangerous’.

When a group of assassins is sent to take Moses out, he assembles his old crew of retired agents to help him out. With an all-star cast including Morgan Freeman and Helen Mirren, one has to figure the stunt doubles really earned their paychecks this time around.

The film certainly has enough experienced actors to pull off the balancing act between comedy and action, which will undoubtedly be the most crucial stunt of the film. Considering Bruce Willis bombed at the box office earlier this year with Cop Out (in which he co-starred alongside Tracy Morgan), he needs this film to really break through (or maybe he should take the hint, stick to action and leave comedy alone). But this film has potential. Catch the preview below.

Red is expected in theaters October 15.

This looks awesome! Thanks for putting it on my radar, CJ. I never liked Bruce Willis, at least until I saw 12 Monkeys. I gained a whole new respect for him and Brad Pitt after that movie. It should have won them some awards.

For those who haven’t seen it yet, put 12 Monkeys on the top of your list.

  • What’s up, man? Long time no hear from. I will definitely be checking for 12 Monkeys ASAP. Never heard of it, but it must be good with a recommendation from a certified real dude like yourself.
