Style Evolution: Kanye West
Rapper and producer Kanye West is known for his hard-hitting rhymes and amazing musical beats. He’s not only respected in the field of music, but also as a trendsetter who’s respected for his unique style.
In the beginning his style was urban-inspired, with a healthy dose of Polo Ralph Lauren in the mix. Remember his MTV Diary where he spends $10,000 on RL gear? He had most hip-hop kids scrambling to be fresh in Polo, too. Kanye also made high-end designer backpacks popular amongst the urban crowd, as well.

As his career progressed, Kanye switched up his style and started dressing up in more prestigious designer brands. He got the nickname “Louis Vuitton Don” and even came out with his own Louis Vuitton sneaker.

Now Kanye’s changing it up again. From his Paris Fashion Week appearance to his recent MTV VMA Awards performance, Yeezy stays sharp. Keep an eye on Mr. West—I’m certain he’ll be the one leading the next style revolution.

Trendsetter is a little much he really didn’t have to look any further than Nordstroms or Rodeo Drive.I like Mr. Ye’s music but, his fashion choices are flaky sometimes. For example the bags and murses and all just way too much. LV has ok quality but it’s not $1200 loafer quality!
I can’t say i am loving the new androgynous styles coming from he star crowd.I see so many v necks, fitted hats, distressed jeans and sneakers when i go out.Tone it down a little, V necks on 28 year olds really little old for that bit.
Rappers stick to a formula for success always buy clothing, cars, jewelery, parties your fans do not have the income level to purchase. If by chance a fan happens to have the money to make said purchase do they need it. No it was was a whim purchase or free to the star to begin with.RL,LV & YSL,will be there long after YE is done as a rapper. He can be a trendsetter when his clothing brand has been around thirty plus years.Lets see what YE comes up with folks are to quick to pass out that trendsetter label.
