Ne-Yo Draws His Own Marvel Comic Book
In a world where celebrities are forced to think ahead of the game and keep themselves in the circle of relevance, dogs are constantly eating other dogs and leaving careers in the fog. Our good friend Ne-Yo knows how vicious the entertainment industry can be and in an effort to pump up his A-game and bring you something fresh, he’s creating a comic character of himself!
Oh, wait! Prince already did that—so did Kid-N-Play, Ciara, New Kids On The Block, and Lady Gaga, but surely Ne-Yo is going to bring something spectacular.
Ne-Yo is teaming up with Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee to create a storybook version of his forthcoming album Libra Scale.
His character, named Jerome, is given superpowers and told he cannot fall in love—until he meets the villain Diamond Eyes. Jerome’s story will also be played out in the crooner’s music videos.
“I’ve been a fan for years. I’m trying not to geek-out being with Stan,” he said. “It’s cool I can take this comic element of myself and blend it to the music element. I got to draw characters myself.” [source]
Heavenly Father, did the character really have to be named Jerome? The story sounds fairly interesting, so we will all see how this works out, if anyone even cares after today.
