Swizz Beatz Is Getting Sued Over A Cassidy Song

Submitted by on October 22, 2010 – 12:28 pm2 Comments

Swizz Beatz just celebrated the birth of his new child with Alicia Keys but it seems the celebration may be interrupted with some legal problems. According to TMZ, Swizz is facing a $1.5 million dollar lawsuit from Antwann Frost, a songwriter claiming to have helped Swizz create rapper Cassidy’s hit single “My Drink and My 2 Step.” According to the lawsuit, the only thing Swizz Beatz did regarding the production of the song was assemble the “drum patterns” while Frost created “all of the other original musical components that shaped and defined” the song. Once the song was released, Antwann was offered five-percent ownership of the song and $5,000 from Swizz Beatz. He declined the offer and filed suit. Swizz Beatz’ camp has yet to speak on the matter.

Two sides to every story. Like to give people the benefit of the doubt until proven guilty. May be someone just wants some publicity. Anyway I hoped Swizz would become a better man with Alicia. I guess time will tell. If all this is true, wonder what other surprises are in store? Gotta love Alicia.
