Sorry, Uncle L—we can definitely call this one a comeback. Grammy Award–winning artist Faith Evans’ triumphant sixth album, Something About Faith, has debuted at number one on Billboard’s Independent Charts, number four on the Hip-Hop/R&B charts and number 15 on the Top 200.

“This marks my 15-year anniversary as an artist and I’m honored to know there’s still an appreciation and love for what it is that I contribute to music,” Evans says. “My faithful fans patiently waited five years for more material, and the reception has been nothing short of wonderful.”

With solid features from Snoop Dogg, Estelle, Raekwon, Kelly Price and Keyshia Cole (her most feature-heavy project to date), Something About Faith puts some much-needed soul back into today’s R&B music, with Evans’ signature honeyed soprano sounding as strong as ever.

After five Grammy nominations, three platinum-selling albums, a Christmas CD and a New York Times best-selling autobiography, Evans is continuing to create milestones in her eventful career. Regarding the album coming out on her own label, she says, “I acquired my own imprint, Prolific Music Group, through Eone Music. So for my first album as an independent artist to debut like this, it is truly a blessing.”

In addition to her new music, Faith is set to play the lead in an upcoming biopic of The SupremesFlorence Ballard, which begins shooting in January next year. She’s currently filming a reality show pilot with celebrity stylist (and friend) Misa Hylton-Brim called The First Ladies.
