Contrary to reports from earlier this week, Rihanna did not miss Katy Perry’s wedding because of fighting with her boyfriend of several months, Matt Kemp. According to an inside source, although Rih-Rih attended her close friend’s bachelorette party and was on the guest list for the ceremony which took place over the weekend in India, the “Umbrella” singer was simply too busy to attend:

“Rih was finishing her album, and she just switched managers, so she had to pull out at the last minute.”

“It was always sort of up in the air that she would go anyway, and Katy knew that. They saved her a room just in case, but they always knew it would be nearly impossible for her to make it as she’s still finishing the album and it’s out in a few weeks. Rih was in the studio all weekend.” (US Magazine)

Despite skipping out on the blessed event, Rih-Rih still sent the happy couple (Katy’s new husband is British comic and Get Him to the Greek star Russell Brand) a nice gift. She told Entertainment Tonight:

“I got her a really, really cool gift. But I’ll let her tell you about that!”

Hell, that’s all I give a damn about anyway. I don’t want half the people I’m planning to invite to my wedding to actually show up (which I’ll have as soon as my boyfriend catches the hint from my leaving bridal magazines around his apartment for him to “conveniently” find)—I just want the gifts (and cash or checks will be happily accepted).
