Def Jam Records’ latest teen sensation, 15-year-old Khalil, is as sweet in nature as his vocals. Growing up between California and North Carolina, Khalil stopped pursuing a promising basketball career after music execs Kevin Wales and Kawan “KP” Prather saw his videos on YouTube (in particular, a cover of Michael Jackson‘s “She’s Out Of My Life”) and signed him to a major-label deal.
Currently promoting his singles “Girlfriend Ringtone” and “Hey Lil Mama” (featuring Lil Twist), Khalil stopped by the DrJays.com offices to perform a couple songs, do a quick photo shoot and share details on his upcoming debut album.
