Lil Wayne Is A Free Man! But, For How Long?
Can Lil Wayne stay out of trouble from now on? Let’s hope the “Best Rapper Alive” has taken his final perp walk.
We’re not saying it will happen to Wayne, but it certainly could. We’re not saying that Wayne will put himself into the wrong place at the wrong time again, but he might. We’re not saying Wayne is going to end up like some of the rappers that have come before him, but it’s certainly not out of the question. Like we said, we’ve seen it happen before. And for a hip-hop fan, it’s heartbreaking to see your favorite rapper reduced to little more than wasted talent thanks to constant legal battles.
The hip-hop community has waited too long, pushed too hard and supported Wayne for too long to sit by and watch him find himself on the wrong side of the law again. He needs to take this fresh start and use it to the best of his ability. He needs to spend time with his kids and record new songs and give back to all the fans that held him down and, most importantly, he needs to stay out of trouble.
Today, life is good for Dwayne Carter. But as we’ve seen in the past, all it takes is one day, one minute or even one second for someone to put their whole future into jeopardy.
So, yes: Lil Wayne is a free man. For now. Let’s just hope he works hard to keep it that way.
