Finally, the day has arrived. Call of Duty: Black Ops is the world’s most anticipated first person shooter this Fall and it’s available at midnight tonight. If you haven’t reserved your copy yet, don’t even bother stopping by your local gaming store because there won’t be any left overs.

Black Ops is the seventh edition to the all time successful Call of Duty series—and like it’s predecessor COD World At War (5), it is developed by Treyarch, which means ZOMBIES! In addition to the original story and game play, Treyarch added a featured bonus where you and up to three other friends, local or online, defend your base from an action-packed zombie take over.

The original game play is set in various locations and focuses on Vietnam and Cuba. The game is suggested to be significantly story-oriented and will focus on military cover-ups that took place during the Cold War. Treyarch has also said that Black Ops will feature considerably more stealth than any previous entries in the Call of Duty series.

According to the latest press releases, expect the fast-paced, action-packed combat you love with more features than ever before:

  • Earn in-game COD Points that work like currency to purchase equipment, attachments, perks, and new customization options. This gives you the freedom to purchase what you want, when you want.
  • All new Killstreaks such as Napalm Strikes, the remote-controlled explosive device (RC Car), and controllable helicopters.
  • Put your COD Points on the line with all-new Wager Matches. Compete for one of the top three spots in four custom game modes that test your nerves and weapon skills.
  • Customize the look of your soldiers with a variety of face paints, gun camos, and equipment options.
  • Use the brand new Theater Mode to show off your most epic kills. Edit and upload gameplay videos for the world to see what you’re made of.
  • Jump into Combat Training and hone your tactics offline against A.I. bots in both Free-For-All and Team Deathmatch game modes.
This FPS is a must have and if you don’t get it tomorrow, I hope you get it for Christmas. What’s your gamertag?
