Mark Wahlberg Takes Lumps In The Fighter
From Ali to Million Dollar Baby and Cinderella Man, people seem to be drawn to boxing films.
That said, people are sure to flock to the theatres in droves to check out Mark Wahlberg‘s new flick, The Fighter. Marky Mark plays “Irish” Micky Ward, real-life welterweight professional boxer who suffers several crushing defeats before working his way to supremacy in the squared circle. In other words, for a good part of the movie, Wahlberg will be doing his best Hilary Swank impression as no one can take an onscreen beatdown quite like she can.
If the film follows suit with the titles listed above, Wahlberg—or his co-stars Christian Bale and Amy Adams—may be looking at an Oscar for the role. The buzz is already out.
The Fighter will swing its way into theaters on December 10.
