Young Money’s Nicki Minaj is one of the most interesting artists in the game right now, so it’s no surprise MTV gave Onika her very own documentary. My Time Now was an hour-long special that gave viewers an intimate look into the life of Nicki Minaj. Filming her in the process of recording, performing, an spending time with family, MTV gave Nicki the platform to show the world her more personal side. The special was a success and a good look for MTV as well, as it showed they can really capture an artist’s life. But sadly, the television network doesn’t do this type of programming often. Besides Nicki, the only person who recently got a similar show was her label mate Drake. I know Young Money is one of the most popular crews in music now, but there are definitely other interesting and intriguing artists who deserve Their Time Now. Take a look at three artists who would be perfect for their own MTV documentary special:
