Drake, Kardinal Offishall & More Support “The Lincoln Rising”
On December 26th, some of the best Canadian talent will be coming out to support their friend Lincoln J. Russell during a time of need. We’re here to let you know how you can get involved.
The rising actor, stunt man, personal trainer and martial artist was diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder called Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP), the effects of which are devastating on the body, as CIDP strips the cells of their protective Myelin sheath, resulting in extreme pain, loss of nerve sensation and eventual loss of physical independence.
Lincoln’s health has declined—he’s gone from losing feeling in his legs to a wheelchair bound. Today’s he’s in a hospital bed, unable to sit up. Canada’s health-care system is exceptional, but doesn’t cover the cost of all treatments or operations that would allow Lincoln to get back on his feet again. An oxygen machine, vehicle ramp, electronic door opener, personal lifting device, and bathroom remodelling are but a few of the costly, much needed items Lincoln requires to live independently.
I will be attending the fundraising dinner in Toronto, hosted by Drake and including a performance by Aion Clarke. The event will be followed by a birthday party for Lincoln, hosted by Director X and featuring a special performance by Kardinal Offishall.
