Trey Songz Addresses Gay Rumors

Dealing with gay rumors almost comes with the territory of being a male R&B singer, but Trey Songz has had it up to here with questions about his sexuality. Since achieving music superstardom a few years ago, the “Bottoms Up” singer has dealt with accusations he plays for the other team (hell, I’ve even heard dude plays for both teams), and during a recent interview with New York’s Power 105.1, Trey tried his best to dispel the rumors. The R&B heartthrob said:

“The first I heard about it was on a blog about a year ago and I remember the actual day because I was with my manager Kevin. He said, ‘Did you her about this?’ He said we ignore stuff like that but I was hot because I love the ladies. What I’ve learned in this business is that people will make their own reality of whatever they want to.”

“What I encourage my fans to do and people that just have a sensible mind…you can’t allow whatever someone else says to be your truth. Just because it’s written on an Internet blog that has so many viewers or so many hits it doesn’t make it true. I just keep living my life, you know the truth always comes to light.”

I hear you Trigga Trey (that nickname alone is a little suspect to me), but while you’re busy trying to convince everyone you don’t have a rainbow flag hidden somewhere in the back of your closet, what immediately comes to mind is the phrase, “doth protest too much.” I’m just saying.
