In Case You Missed It: Chris Rock At The Kennedy Center Honors

Chris Rock is one of the funniest comedians in the business these days, bar none. Say what you want about his movies (or television endeavors), but the fact remains. Few can compare with his brash, in-your-face, fearless and oh-so-true humorous observations. No one else can draw logical conclusions that make you wonder why you didn’t think of his punchlines yourself a long time ago.

At the Kennedy Center Honors earlier this week, Oprah Winfrey and Paul McCartney, among others, were honored for their lifetime achievement in the performing arts. They were lauded with well-written tributes and recollections of their triumphs and leadership. As the two of them sat next to President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, Oprah was also mercilessly and hilariously roasted by Rock (who threw a few jabs at the President and the Beatle as well).

Of course, they did what anyone else would most likely do in that situation. They laughed and held their breath, crossing their fingers for him to stop before too long. If you missed it, you missed a classic comedic moment.

Watch as the Kennedy Center Honors becomes the Chris Rock Show (complete with crowd participation) for a brief moment.

Although his set lasted no more than 90 seconds, it was still the talk of the night.

That’s what we call comedic genius.

If we didn’t know any better, we’d say he’s auditioning for the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
