Are The Cleveland Cavaliers Really Cursed?
Can it get any worse for the Cavs? We knew it was going to be bad once LeBron James bolted for South Beach, but this is just surreal. The Cavs are currently riding an 18-game losing streak to become the worst team in the NBA. They have been absolutely decimated by injuries this season and there appears to be no light at the end of the tunnel.
It’s been downright dreadful for the Cavs.
And the blame can be placed squarely on the shoulders of LeBron James. I’m not saying King James shouldn’t have left, but watching the Cavs go from the best record in the league to the absolute worst in a season has a whole lot to do with how LeBron left them. The Decision held the Cavs up from any hiring move which could have added some much needed depth to the roster. So now you look at the Cavs and their pitiful record of 8-37 and you have got to wonder if they can ever fix the situation they are in.
You have a team and city who lived and breathed LeBron James. Not to mention nobody is going to want to try and fill the void LeBron left. It’s a hopeless situation in Cleveland and I’m feeling quite bad for them. LeBron made everyone on his team better and with his departure, everyone on the team’s been going downhill in one way or another. So now you don’t even trade assets anyone would want.
Where’s the light at the end of this tunnel you ask? I don’t see it. And I’m sure Cavs owner Dan Gilbert is crying himself to sleep every night as he tries to figure out what to do. Maybe there will be a draft pick the Cavs can acquire who will turn the franchise around. But for now, the Cavs stink and there’s nothing anyone can do about it.
