I recently sat down with two of my favorite young artists—Ben J and Legacy of the New Boyz—to discuss their electro-tinged new single, “Backseat,” featuring Dev and The Cataracs.

The 19-year-old’s talk about how their label insisted on changing up the more sexually-charged lyrics of the original song, their excitement for upcoming sophomore album Too Cool To Care and get gifted with exclusive product from one of DrJays.com’s most popular brands, New Era.

ANYWAY!!! I have been a fan of New Boyz since they were 15 (me 14 then)!!!! I love them to death!! I always support them. People just will not let go of that ONE song with them wearing skinny jeans! Why would you bash someones music because of what they wear?? Lil Wayne defiantly wears skinny jeans and not ONE person stopped listening to him for that. I am ultimately proud of New Boyz for “Shakin off” the haters and doing their thing. Ben J has 100 Records and Legacy has Rule Blind. They are making money and they don’t care what anyone has to say about it. They love to please their fans and are so down to earth I love it. So anyone can just back off if you haven’t listened to their music since “You’re A Jerk” because the lyrics are just like the New Boyz, evolved to something greater.

Thank you from a super fan!!!
