Does Jumping The Broom Have Potential To Be Funny?
Doesn’t this movie sound like something we saw already? Isn’t this The Brothers meets Why Did I Get Married meets The Best Man meets just about every other movie that features African-Americans getting married? We’ve definitely seen this before, I’m sure of it. Two people meet, fall in love, families (or friends) may not approve, something happens when they nearly don’t get married only to figure out the drama and, finally, get married. Yup, same story. There’s always the same set of actors: the good looking man and woman, the comedian, the hating girlfriend, the uppity mother, the jerk, etc. Maybe, just maybe, we’ll be surprised when Jumping The Broom with Laz Alonzo, Angela Bassett, Loretta Devine, Paula Patton and Mike Epps is released. But, then again, how many times can you watch the same movie?

To answer the question Potential to be funny, Hells Yea, Deray Davis and Mike Epps same movie, Just hope they dont over do it like That Roscoe Jenkins Movie or lord forbid soul plane… Glad to see a bunch of black actors, just wish it was some we havent seen before, bet its hard for a new black actor to break on the scene. Probably gonna be a date movie, with some chick…
