Chris Brown: The Last Two Years, Everybody Dissed Me…

Two years after his brutal assault against then girlfriend Rihanna, things are really starting to fall into place for Chris Brown. A restraining order against Breezy, which required him to stay at least 50 feet away from the “Rude Boy” singer, was recently downgraded, and his latest recording effort, “F.A.M.E.,” is due in stores on March 18, but the “No B.S.” singer admits it hasn’t been easy. In an interview with Page Six Magazine (out Thursday), Breezy said of the way a lot of people kept him at arm’s length in the aftermath of his violent altercation with Rih-Rih:

“A handful of people stuck by me [including fellow artists Pitbull and Pharrell Williams], but when [most] people see certain things happen to somebody, they usually turn away. They don’t want to get involved with it because they don’t want their name attached to anything negative.”

As for how he’s currently treated by the industry, Breezy said:

“They wanna get on the record. They wanna let me back in the door. The last two years, everybody dissed me. But my fans were so dedicated. The way I look at it is, you can’t walk around mad, because then you just prove everybody right that you’re an angry person.”

He’s right about one thing – his fans are dedicated, almost to the point of overzealousness. To be perfectly honest, Team Breezy scares the hell out of me…

Why do their fans scare you? By no means am I exceedingly interested in either of them, but I never believed the notion that he just attacked her for no reason. I didn’t once condone what he did, but I believed and still believe that she must have done SOMETHING for him to fly off the handle like that.

Add to that, Brown’s insistence in quietly serving his community service sentence while Rihanna took the incident as a chance to promote her new album, and we can see just how innocent Ri-Ri really was in the matter.

Still, I’m glad this whole thing is starting to blow over, and he can continue with his career.
