Jacob Tucker: White Men Can Jump
It’s 2011—white guys who can dunk the basketball with flair and authority don’t really raise an eyebrow anymore. We’ve already had a white NBA Slam Dunk Contest winner (Brent Barry in 1996, who pulled off a free-throw line dunk—with his warm-ups still on, pictured above), and the NBA is littered with super-athletic white players. It’s not the 1980s anymore, where for every Tom Chambers you had a hundred thousand trillion Jack Sikmas.
Having said that, this compilation of Jacob Tucker, a senior at Illinois College, throwing down some of the most ridiculous dunks you’ve ever seen (with what seems like very little effort) has to be seen to be believed. Did we mention he’s only 5’11”?
Sure, he’s not soaring over cars like Blake Griffin or dunking three balls at once like JaVale McGee, but from a dunking purists perspective, this prop-free aerial exhibition certainly rivals the dunks we saw from Griffin, McGee, DeMar DeRozan and Serge Ibaka in last month’s (allegedly rigged) NBA Slam Dunk Contest.
(P.S. Seeing as they’re the flavor of the month, for all your latest Miami Heat news and results, make sure you check out this Web site. Extremely informative.)
