Rihanna Says “Absolutely Not” To Starring In The Bodyguard
Rumors starting swirling recently that Rihanna would be starring in a remake of Whitney Houston’s classic film vehicle, The Bodyguard. She refuted the claims to OK! magazine, saying “absolutely not.”
“I hate it when singers do singing movies all the time because you can never look at them as anybody else,” she said. “I want to play a character. My whole life is playing Rihanna, being a singer won’t be a stretch for me. I like challenges and being an actor is playing a role, being able to step into somebody else’s shoes, that’s the excitement.”
Being a singer won’t be a stretch for you, Ri Ri? We kinda beg to differ. You would definitely light up the screen, but maybe you should work on those vocals of yours first before you even venture into exploring film roles.
In other news, Rihanna’s mother was TwitPic’ed in Barbados looking proud of her daughter during the local launch of her new perfume Reb’l Fleur earlier this week:

Go fuck yourself Boss Lady. That is just such a hater comment right there. Riri can sing, she may have a unique sound, and is no Mariah, but she can hold a note and is super talented. I ammend her for not going for the lame movie roles of a singer “acting” the role of a singer like Christina, Mariah, and all those other movie floppers. Even a lot of actors can’t do anything but “act” like themselves and she obviuosly didn’t want to get typecast like them…ie Samuel Jackson, Jim Carey, Adam Sandler, and the list could go on and on..same role different movie. Bravo for her recognizing that and not just taking the first thing that comes along. I amend her for challenging herself instead of letting her fans suffer through a cheesy B-rate performance.
