This past weekend, on the mean streets of downtown NYC, the formidable Sneaker Con event held court, and the sneaker freakers flocked. Over 2,000 enthusiasts piled in to share, swap and sell their prized kicks. The lineup was three city blocks deep, and the heat for sale and on feet was enough to make even the most seasoned sneaker veteran woozy. I was on-hand as vendors manned booths and enterprising youngsters piled through the isles shopping their prized sneaker wares yelling out sizes and dollar amounts. The hand-to-hand sneaker transactions were enumerable and everything—including the shoes on one’s feet—had a price tag. The event was the largest in Sneaker Con history, and evidence that the sneaker culture is both alive and well. Industry heavyweights such as DJ Clark Kent and Ronnie Fieg were on hand to experience Sneaker Con for themselved. Check out the exclusive pics below and stack your chips and clean your kicks for the next time Sneaker Con rolls into town.
