Eddie Griffin: You Can Tell ‘Em I Said It

Submitted by on March 27, 2011 – 10:42 am2 Comments

It’s been awhile since we last saw comedian and veteran actor Eddie Griffin. He’s kinda gone on hiatus for a while, especially as far as movies, with his last major film credit having been Norbit in 2007. Of course, he appeared in his own reality show, Eddie Griffin Going For Broke which aired on VH1 in 2009.

You Can Tell ‘Em I Said It marks the comic’s return to the stage since his last stand-up concert, DysFunktional Family and he’s back and better than ever. He’s brutally honest and already prepared to give his opinion and philosophy on the popular issues and cooler talk of the day (including LeBron James, Delonte West, and Bishop Eddie Long).

There may have never been another urban comedian who has gone so hard against religion in general as Griffin did on this piece, so it is not for the squeamish or sensitive, but for fans of his all-over, it’s classic material. He begins with quite a controversial bang (hint: I don’t think our President would find it funny) and doesn’t allow you to breathe until it’s all over (although there is a bit of recycled material). If laughter is truly the best medicine, prescribe yourself some Eddie Griffin this weekend and get lifted.

Eddie Griffin: You Can Tell Em I Said It is out on DVD right now.
