A Day In The Life: Curren$y
I’ll be first to admit, working with celebrities and their egos on a day to day bases has made me quite numb. So when I was asked to spend a (full) day with one, I had no idea what to expect. To my surprise I was offered a hamburger ( from this point out I will be referring to an unnamed illegal substance as hamburgers so please keep up ) as soon as I stepped in the photo studio, where I began my day with Curren$y.
It seemed as if I was the only one that hadn’t had a hamburger already for the morning. Please let me point out I have had quite a few hamburgers in my day but it was even to early for me to have a hamburger. After politely passing on the hamburger, it was time to get started.
Quickly I realized how mundane an artist’s life could be. It seemed to be very routine for him. The only thing that seemed to make the day a little better for him, of course was hamburgers and…well yeah, just hamburgers. Photoshoot, hamburger, interview, hamburger, interview, hamburger, photo shoot—for the most part, that’s how the day went. I’m a very quiet person myself and it seemed that Curren$y and I share this characteristic.
I can count the number of times he had a convo (other than a interview) that day on one hand. I’m sure if I had to answer questions all day (and had that many hamburgers), I wouldn’t talk often either.
Every time he did have to speak though, I got a glimpse into his thought process and how passionate he is about his music and his upcoming projects. By the end of the day and nine hamburgers in, it seemed as if they had no affect on his normal behavior. Thanks to Curren$y, I have a new found respect for Pimp C, OG Jordans and al types of hamburgers. Lessons well learned in the world of Curren$y.
