Are You Ready For Wrestling Wives?

The first thing that comes to mind when hearing that VH1 is producing yet another show about wives is “Damn, where are all the husband shows?” But when you think about it, VH1′s upcoming reality show about the wives of men who are on the road more than 80% of the year can be quite an interesting one.

Wrestling Wives will bring together the wives of former WWE/WCW/TNA star turned Smackdown commentator Booker T (wife Sharmell Sullivan-Huffman), wrestling legend turned color commentator Jerry “The King” Lawler (ex-wife Stacy Carter) and former WWE tag-team champion Charlie Haas (wife Jackie Haas). The show will probably feature other wives but it appears the pilot has already began shooting in Texas.

Now before you let out a collective deep sigh and say “Another reality show about wives?” I have to totally agree with you that the wives idea has been ran into the ground (just like the dating shows a couple of years ago). But for fans of the sport, this show has the potential to be interesting considering these woman almost never see their husbands. And when they do, they are usually banged up and in need of some rest and healing. It’s perhaps the most untold story in sports entertainment. We always hear about sports wives, musician wives, acting wives, etc. But these women have a story that is often swept under the rug when their husbands hit the road and put their bodies on the line for the entertainment of screaming fans.

So yeah, we’re all sick of the reality shows about wives, but perhaps this one could be interesting and shed some light on their world without all the yelling, screaming and fighting. But, if we know VH1, we’re bound to have all of that to keep the show full of drama and keep viewers engaged.

Are you ready for another “wives” show?
