The 2012 Volkswagen Beetle: Men Approved?

Submitted by on April 19, 2011 – 9:09 amOne Comment

The first thing that comes to mind when you hear the title Volkswagen Beetle is a quartet of chicks riding with the windows blasting their favorite Sarah Mclaughlin jam. Now there’s nothing wrong with that aesthetic, or that image, but the 2012 Volkswagen Beetle definitely makes a play for the male audience. The differences on the re-fashioned model are not limited to the exterior, although on first pass, those are the most noticeable. The extremely curved bubble lines have been traded in for a sleeker, smoother design and the punch-buggy has even been given a spoiler. Once you move to the car’s interior, the racing aesthetic is truly driven home with two-toned bucket seats and clocks that pop up from the dash. The little wagon’s power specs are nothing to scoff at with nearly 200 horse power and a turbocharged engine. Look for VW to debut this design at Shanghai and New York auto shows this week. No word as of yet on pricing.
