Big congrats are in order for Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon. Mariah gave birth to the couple’s boy-girl twins yesterday at a Los Angeles area hospital. According to Access Hollywood:

“Nick and Mariah’s baby girl was reportedly born first, weighing 5 pounds, 3 ounces, and was 18 inches long; while her brother was next, at 5 pounds 6 ounces, and was 19 inches.”

Along with the birth of their twins, Mariah and Nick also celebrated their third wedding anniversary yesterday, as the duo was married in The Bahamas on April 30, 2008. Overcome with happiness, Nick took to his Twitter page to share his joy with fans soon after the babies’ births, saying:

“My wife just gave me the most incredible anniversary gift ever in life! I won’t ever be able to top this!”

This being a joyous occasion, and knowing what these guys went through to become parents (the couple suffered a miscarriage over two years ago), I think I’ll lay off the “Corny Cannon” jokes this time around, and simply express well-wishes to the new parents.
