On a different tip, I recently discovered an amazing French disco record “Embody” from SebastiAn of Ed Banger Records (home to Daft Punk, Justice, etc). The vocal sounds like Pharrell and Prince inhaling helium balloons. And I love it! Wale, Rick Ross and the MMG drop some serious mixed messages on “By Any Means.” Money, drugs and Malcolm? Uh, okay. But this shit goes hard. Can’t front. Rounding out this week’s new tunes is some raw boom bap from new jacks Jon Connor and XV, “U Ain’t Getting Nothin,” produced by Sean C and LV. Grind Music keep the drums knocking heavy as always and these new guys have got bars.
