Nicki Minaj’s 5 Best & Worst Fashion Moments
I’ve done a few of these “5 Best & Worst” lists, but this was a particularly tough one. How do you judge Nicki Minaj‘s fashion style when she lives in Barbieland? She clearly goes for animated, super colorful girlie looks with a shock factor as often as she can. So let’s just say I tried to keep this in mind, often giving her a pass for outrageous outfits because she is so consistently outrageous. We’re looking at mostly red carpet looks and TV show appearances here. Let’s get started!
THE WORST
As much as Nicki reminds me of an 80s workout video here, she should have opted for different shoes to keep this look flowing from head to toe. I actually like the booties, but with their texture and studs, they’re too fancy for her casual outfit.
This look is not flattering at all in her genital area…and I’m not a fan of all thewacky layering going on. Her legs look like they’re suffocating!
I love the 80s, tribal prints and this ode to Keith Harring, but Nicki OD’d with this one. Also there’s way too much going on with the hair, chain and matching bracelets on both wrists.
Not sure if that tear in her knit top is meant to be there, but it looks awful either way. The worst part of this all-pink disaster though are the boots. Why she thought it was OK to pair brown fur-lined booties and a brown handbag with this candy colored outfit, we will never understand.
We know it’s a hot trend this season, but this is color-blocking gone crazy. The leggings and shoes, which look like they’re from another planet, throw the outfit off.
THE BEST
Even though the leggings are a bit dizzying, Nicki looks great in this blazer/tank-top combo. Simple on top, party on the bottom. The heels are cute, too.
This has to be one of the most demure outfits I’ve ever seen Nicki in. The red trench coat is hot!
Nicki adds a nice splash of color to this cream dress with her interesting yellow leather legwarmers.
Nicki hit all the right notes with this nude romper, platform heels and jewelry. We wonder what possessed her to look so trend-right and fabulous at this particular event?
This look encompasses Nicki’s fun Barbie style with colorful heels and bright pink lips, but she still keeps it sexy. The leggings are fire, along with the structured leather jacket. She looks simply stunning in this shot.
