Alicia Keys Finally Responds To Accusations About Her Relationship With Swizz Beatz

My girl Alicia Keys wants people to know she isn’t a moralless jezebel that schemed to wreck another woman’s home. The R&B superstar’s image took somewhat of a beating over the last year or two because of her relationship with Swizz Beatz, which, according to Swizzy’s ex-wife Mashonda, started when the hip-hop mega-producer was still living with her as husband and wife. In spite of the accusations that have been levied Alicia’s way, the “Un-Thinkable” singer, who married Swizzy last summer (the couple now have a 7-month-old son), insists he had already separated from Mashonda when she started seeing him. She told Essence magazine:

“Everything was in order. We didn’t start seeing each other until after they had been separated for months.”

As for why she’s never, until now, responded to all the mean and nasty things that have been said about her since she and Swizzy went public with their relationship, Alicia said:

“I was very aware of all the false things that were being said about me. And it definitely hurt. But I was sure that if I engaged, it would become a back-and-forth like some sort of sick entertainment, which goes against everything I believe in and only would have made things worse.”

She added:

“Of course, people will believe what they want to believe. But I know the truth will shine through.“

In other words, you bitter naysayers can believe what you want to believe, but at the end of the day, Alicia sleeps like a log every night.
