Bishop Eddie Long Reaches Settlement In Sex Scandal
The Bishop Eddie Long saga appears to have come to an end.
According the the Atlanta Journal Constitution, a settlement has been reached in the four lawsuits which allege sexual coercion against Long and lit the Internet on fire. This means some type of agreement has come into play which will prevent Long from doing time after four young men from his church came forward last year.
It may come as a shock to many that Long won’t see a trial and is now completely off the hook. There’s no word what the settlement consists of, but part of the deal involves Long being dismissed “with prejudice” which means Long cannot be sued again by the plaintiffs for the same offense.
This must be considered a victory for Long who constantly said he would fight “vigorously” against the young men who alledgd the bishop used his influence, trips, gifts and jobs to coerce the men into sexual relations. Obviously, there was a price to be paid for the men to not take this further and God knows how much Long had to pay.
One thing is for sure: If you pay the right price, you can get out of anything.
