Katy Perry Preps U.S. Leg Of Her California Dreams Tour
Katy Perry‘s current California Dreams tour has been an international success (it hits U.S. shores on June 7) but not without hiccups along the way.
The current Vanity Fair cover star’s husband, actor Russell Brand, recently visited Japan to spend time with his wife only to be deported due to crimes he committed over 10 years ago. “So…my husband just got deported from Japan,” Perry wrote on Twitter. “I am so sad. I brought him all this way to show him my favorite place.” Brand took the situation a little lighter, tweeting: “Planning escape from Japanese custody. It’s bloody hard to dig a tunnel with a chopstick.”
In addition to legal woes, Perry’s excessive demands on her 45-page tour rider have been a source of ridicule across various cities. According to the New Zealand Herald, the singer “outlawed carnations” in any flower arrangements and ordered her chauffeur “not to stare at her in the rear-view mirror.” She also asked for her dressing room to be “piped and draped in cream and soft pink” and the she stay in a “5-star hotel in the presidential suite, with five junior suites and approximately 45 single rooms for her tour company.”
Let’s hope this American leg is a little less stress-free.
The California Dreams tour kicks off next week in Atlanta, GA and features a rotating roster of support acts including Janelle Monae, Robyn and Oh Land.
