Fashion Fix: Ashley Olsen At The CFDA Awards
As fashion forward as she and her clothing lines, The Row and Elizabeth & James, are known to be, Ashely Olsen‘s vintage dress at the CFDA Awards was not a great fit for her.
While that punch of citrus orange is a fun shade for summer, it simply seemed to big for her in every way. For a petite woman, it’s hard to pull off a long number but it can be done with the right cut and right heels. The fact that the dress has excess material in the top and such a high neckline with long sleeves makes it look—well, like she raided her mother’s closet!
This dress would have worked great if either the top stayed the same and the bottom was narrow, or if the top part was tightly fitted. Don’t get us wrong—it definitely is a beautiful dress! Check out an option I think would have worked better for Ashley’s frame, still incorporating long sleeves and that vibrant orange:
