VF Corporation Acquires Timberland for $2 Billion
Timberland, a brand which has transcended workwear and streetwear to become an all encompassing lifestyle brand has been purchased for the neat sum of $2 billion. The acquisition was announced Monday morning, and the transition cost the internationally acclaimed VF Corporation a tidy sum of $43 per share which translates into roughly $2 billion dollars for the company that made it cool to sport work boots, no matter the weather. If you’re wondering just what the heck the VF Corporation is, you’re not alone. I had to look it up and my investigation shed light on the corporation which owns more than 30 brands including The North Face, Vans, and Nautica. I’m no financial forecaster, but details on the announcement and subsequent transition can be caught up here.
