Reflecting On Tupac Shakur’s 40th Birthday
Today would have been Tupac Shakur‘s 40th birthday. The rapper, poet, activist and visionary’s impact on a generation has been well documented over the years and today in Atlanta, Georgia, his legacy is being celebrated with a huge concert featuring Erykah Badu, Roy Ayers, Meek Mill, Bun B and Too Short, hosted by Mike Epps and ‘Pac’s mother, Afeni Shakur.
TheYBF.com found this rare footage of ‘Pac, who was only 25 when he was tragically shot and killed in Las Vegas in 1996, reciting his classic song “Keep Ya Head Up” to a classroom full of females. Watch the video for a glimpse of the iconic artist at his best:
In related news, it was revealed yesterday a currently incarcerated man named Dexter Isaac made a confession to AllHipHop.com that he was paid $2500 to rob Tupac on orders from Jimmy Henchmen on November 30th, 1994. Henchmen’s lawyer Jeffrey Lichtman told the Daily News today Isaac was “lying,” questioned his credibility and said he was attempting to shave time off of his own jail sentence. The saga continues.
