Is Jennifer Aniston A Homewrecker?
Back in 2005, actress Jennifer Aniston became the poster child for women wronged when news emerged that her then-husband, Hollywood heartthrob Brad Pitt, had been unfaithful with Angelina Jolie while the duo were filming Mr. & Mrs. Smith. During the ensuing scandal, the mere mention of Aniston’s name tugged at the heartstrings of the countless women who could relate to the plight of a woman whose husband was snatched away from under her unsuspecting nose.
Fast forward six-years, and apparently, the victim has become the homewrecker as the former Friends star is accused of poaching her current beau, Parks and Recreation star Justin Theroux, from his girlfriend of the last fourteen years, Hollywood costume designer Heidi Bivens. Reportedly, Theroux and Bivens shared a NYC apartment up until a few weeks ago (according to her rep, Bivens moved out of the apartment earlier this month), and an inside source told Page Six:
“(Bivens) was completely blindsided. She and Justin had been together for years, they had a home. Then he met Jennifer and everything changed. At first he claimed he and Jen were friends.”
Oh the classic “we’re just friends” line. The first time my boyfriend tells me that about a woman will be the last time I call him my boyfriend, but I digress. If the reports from Page Six and other celebrity news outlets are to be believed, then Aniston joins a not-so-elite club of Hollywood homewreckers that includes Alicia Keys, whose husband Swizz Beatz was allegedly still living as husband and wife with Love & Hip-Hop star Mashonda Tifrere when he began a much talked about affair with the “Un-Thinkable” singer, and country music star LeAnn Rimes, who was married when she embarked on an illicit affair with actor Eddie Cibrian (the two met while filming Northern Lights together). At the time, Eddie was married to his ex-wife and the mother of his two sons, Brandi Glanville.
While the average woman with an ounce of decency would avoid putting her dirty laundry on the front porch, the Hollywood homewrecker flaunts her ill-gotten relationship on the red carpet and Twitter, as if she didn’t stomp on hearts and destroy families on the way to her newfound happiness. Perhaps it’s the glamour and money these women possess that insulates them from the harsh reality of the consequences of their actions and helps them emerge from the scandals seemingly unscathed. In Aniston’s defense, a friend of Theroux told Page Six, “Things were already over between him and Heidi before he got close to Jen,” and as it is often said, “you can’t wreck something that’s already wrecked.” Nevertheless, when it comes to women with homewrecker-like tendencies, my best advice to you ladies is to “hide your husbands (in my Antoine Dodson voice)!” As for you homewreckers, as we say down south, “how you get him is how you lose him,” and you can ”run and tell that!”
