Selena Gomez Scores With When The Sun Goes Down
I’m rooting for Selena Gomez to win. While some young ladies should only be seen and not heard (talking to you, Amber Rose and Kim Kardashian) this is one girl I’m always happy to hear speak. Eloquent, refreshingly honest and mature for her 19 years on earth, Gomez is a shining example of a teenager who’s not only been raised well but is clearly comfortable in her own skin also.
To celebrate today’s release of her new album with her group “The Scene”—When The Sun Goes Down—Selena taped an E! TV special which airs tomorrow at 10pm ET, dishing on everything from being bullied in school to her thoughts on dating a superstar like Justin Bieber. Perez Hilton has some sneak peek quotes:
On her being a role model: “I’m human, I’m not perfect. I make mistakes all the time, but I guess my job is to keep those mistakes to myself, which I’m already fine doing and just try to be the best I can be for those kids.”
On being famous: “This is a very superficial job. I sit in a chair for two hours and get hair and makeup done and talk about [myself] in interviews. That’s a very vain thing to do. And I do get caught up in it sometimes. I do.”
This weekend will be an all-out Selena media blitz—the album drops today and her new movie Monte Carlo hits screens on Friday (three weeks ahead of the kick-off of her summer tour).

I agree! Selena has always been a gracious, humble and mature young lady. The album is great – so fun!
