Has Will Smith Worn Out His Hollywood Welcome?
The answer is probably not, although he seems to be rubbing some the wrong way in NYC. We have always heard nothing but great things about the über-successful rapper-turned-actor Will Smith. So nice, so gracious, so handsome, etc. However, it seems that this time around, on the set of Men In Black 3 (yes, another sequel), the artist formerly known as The Fresh Prince hasn’t been his usual self.
What’s going on? First of all, his wife Jada Pinkett Smith‘s television show, HawthoRNe, has returned with quite a bang and fanfare. Also, both of his children, Willow and Jaden Smith have embarked on quite successful entertainment careers of their own since Will’s last starring role. He probably feels a bit of pressure to keep the Smiths on the roll that they seem to be on. So why the hell is he working on a sequel that probably won’t be as good as the original in the first place?
Maybe the pressure is to blame for Smith’s decision to camp out in an oversized trailer (53 feet, to be exact), making designers start from scratch with one particular set because it “wasn’t right.” Supposedly, Smith also caused another set to be rebuilt and co-star Tommy Lee Jones (who will probably just be making a cameo appearance or otherwise reduced role in this film) had to re-shoot a previously-recorded scene because of his last minute improvisations.
The film has suffered several delays, script problems and production issues. Overall, the film will cost about $215 million to produce. For a sequel that no one really seemed to beg for, it better be worth it.
Men In Black III is set to be released May 25, 2012.

I’m a big fan of Will Smith so I’ll be rooting for him but I think we can all agree that this movie is a recipe for disaster…
