Don’t Be Surprised If Casey Anthony Gets A Reality Show

As we all know, Casey Anthony got away with murder off with a “not guilty” verdict on charges of first degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter of a child in the Caylee Anthony trial. It was the realest reality show on television that’s had the nation’s attention for three years.

With children disappearing and being murdered across the country, many people are still curious why this case received so much attention. Nevertheless, the pathological liar known as Casey Anthony has had her image splashed across our television sets because we have been fascinated with her tall tales and the fact that she’s been able to keep the truth from coming to the light.

That’s the exact reason why Casey Anthony is reality television gold.

No, I don’t subscribe to the idea that Casey Anthony should get some reality show on some network that will turn out to be a travesty while making a boatload of money. However, let’s be real, the gears are already turning in some sick mind of a network executive. The entire backstory of Anthony, her family and the media circus that followed would be something someone will cash in on. Anthony is certainly not rich, so she would likely be all for it. This won’t happen next week, but considering Amy Fisher is on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew after shooting her 36-year-old’s boyfriend’s wife when she was 16, Casey Anthony is certainly fair game.

Our society is enamored with these type of stories. In this era of reality show travesties where downtrodden women are put on our television sets for the world to watch them fight and gossip, why wouldn’t somebody want to have some cameras follow Casey Anthony around while she tries to put her life back together? Her family would also be of interest. Her father is already accused of sexually abusing Casey as a child and her sister tries her hardest to cover for her lying sister. The Anthony family is simply dysfunctional.

How can we stop something like this from happening? By not watching the craptastic reality shows that are shoved down our throats. The fact that scripted television is getting shoved aside for a ridiculous amount of terrible reality shows like Basketball Wives and Mob Wives tells them we enjoy watching train wrecks on television. Give it a few years, Casey Anthony will have a reality show. Unless we turn the channel and tell the network execs we like a little more substance with our television.
