Derek Jeter Reaches 3,000 Hits in Jordan DJ3K Cleats
Saturday marked a historic day in the already illustrious career of future hall of famer Derek Jeter. El Capitan not only broke into the 3,000 hit club, not only did it with a home run, not only did it on a day where he recorded a perfect 5-for-5 plate appearance, he did it all in style in the Jordan DJ3K Cleats. Being one of the only representatives of the Jordan Brand cartel in baseball, the good folks at Jordan took notice that this day was fast approaching and whipped up a becoming pair of cleats for Jeter to enter the 3,000 hit club in. The cleats denote a number of personal touches including Jeter’s high school and professional number, and a contract his pops laid out for him on how to be a man. You can bet the cleats along with everything else Jeter was wearing on Saturday will enjoy a nice retirement in Cooperstown, New York.
The day couldn’t have run much more scripted for Jeter, Jordan, or Yankee fans. Jeter belted his 3,000th hit into the stands and trotted around the bases soliciting a standing ovation from his team, the crowd, his lovely lady Minka Kelly, and even members of the opposing Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Jeter was far from finished, however, and rounded out the career day with five hits in five at bats, including the game winner.
