Gym Class Heroes Return With “Stereo Hearts”
Now that frontman Travie McCoy has his name change thing out the way and proved he’s far from a Nicole Scherzinger away from the Pussycat Dolls (his cred was solidified with the success of last year’s smash hit “Billionaire” from his solo debut, Lazarus), Gym Class Heroes are back in business.
“Stereo Hearts” is the group’s new single, a hip-hop/pop treat featuring Maroon 5‘s Adam Levine. It’s the lead cut from their upcoming fifth studio album, The Papercut Chronicles 2 (the original Papercut Chronicles was their 2005 breakout set).
Produced by Benny Blanco, the cut “alternates between McCoy’s clever verses and Levine’s poignant hook,” according to Billboard magazine. A sample of the lyrics include Travie asking earnestly, “If I was just another dusty record on the shelves/Will you blow me off and play me like everybody else?”
Catch Gym Class Heroes alongside Yelawolf, Simple Plan, Bad Rabbits, Paramore and others right now on the Vans Warped tour.
