Drake, Where’s Your Stylist?

Why is it some super talented celebrities generally seem to be slacking in the style department? We’re talking about celebrities who have the means to have a sick wardrobe, but just can’t seem to get it together.

Let’s start with one of our favorites, Young Money rapper, singer and actor, Drake. From driving himself around in an Acura during his humble beginnings in Toronto to pushing an Aston Martin DB9, Drake has upgraded his life in many ways. However, when we spot him on red carpets, music videos and such, we’re often left scratching our heads. Drake is a good looking young man and has the potential to do so much more with his style, but he’s often spotted in unflattering or ill-fitting gear along with very basic looks.

We’ve picked three random ensembles as examples:

We appreciate that Drake chose these awesomely risky boldy colored oxford shoes, but he paired them with pants that are too long and an untucked textured button down shirt that doesn’t quite flow.

In his music video for “Aston Martin Music” with Rick Ross, Drake once again rocks a pair of pants that seem a few sizes too big. And what is up with the disgusting wash of those jeans? We get that he likes to keep it basic, but for such a hit song as this, and with all the amazing menswear options out there, he couldn’t pick something more than a basic black crew neck tee?

Anytime we have a chance to give Drake points for being adventurous with his style, we’d like to do so. So few rappers are willing to try things such as, let’s say, a leopard print shirt…but what on earth was Drake thinking here? The suit alone could work, as the shirt with a different ensemble could also. Together, they spell disaster.

Dear stylist, please come get your client—in this case, being the ever so talented Drake! Let’s get him looking the part.
