Best Fashion Moments: Curb Your Enthusiasm‘s Susie Greene

Ok, so if you’re not familiar with Susie Greene‘s character on the hit HBO show, Curb Your Enthusiasm, you may not have understood that we were being completely sarcastic when we used the words “Best Fashion Moments.” Susie Essman plays the is the foul-mouthed wife of Jeff Greene, Larry David‘s manager on the show.
I caught her stand-up show last year in New York, where she herself said that her wardrobe for the show came from the Back Room of Loehmann’s. As she said of her character in her book, What Would Susie Say?:
“I decided that I was a devoted mother but also an interior decorater (part-time, of course), and believed that I had the greatest taste in the world. I didn’t discuss that with anyone except Wendy Range-Rao, the wardrobe designer, to giver her a sense of how I wanted to dress. Outrageously, but with complete confidence that I was on the cutting edge of high fashion. Kind of like the Russian women in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. “Where am I going to get clothes like that?” she said. I told her to go to the Back Room at Loehmann’s. We went on a field trip, and the Susie Green look was born.”
The end result is pure hilarity, as you can see in our gallery below of Susie Greene’s most fabulously tacky outfits
