Fame, fortune and embezzlement? Unfortunately young stars in Hollywood are finding out the hard way that you can’t have one without the other. Even worse? It’s often their parents, the ones they trust the most, that are robbing them blind and stabbing them in the back. So what’s a star to do when they find out that money really can’t buy you love? Use those dead presidents and hire a kick-ass lawyer.
Gorgeous Gossip Girl actress Leighton Meester is just the latest celebrity to sue a family member. The 25-year-old is suing her mother Constance for using the $7,500 she sends home monthly to care for her sick little brother Alexander who recently underwent brain surgery instead “to pay for cosmetic procedures for herself, including plastic surgery on her face and stomach, botox injections for her face, fillers for her hands and hair extensions,” according to the lawsuit filed at a Los Angeles County Court. Constance quickly counter sued alleging that she “sacrificed her happiness” for her daughter and that Leighton verbally agreed to send her $30,000 a month.
“Leighton is disgusted by her mother and is determined to get her brother Alex out of that situation,” a source said to RadarOnline.com about Constance who refuses to work. “She wants him to leave their mom’s California home and come to live with her in New York, where she is based whilst filming her show, Gossip Girl.”
Leighton isn’t the only leading lady with a greedy parent trying to take advantage of her success. Here’s a look at four other celebrities that had to stick it to mommy and daddy dearest.
