Apple Offers Schools 21.5 Inch iMacs For $999

Apple has started a special promotion tailored for institutions of education. In an effort to get more iMacs in schools for students use, Apple is serving up a 21.5 inch version of their ever-popular iMac and offering schools a promotional price of $999. When I was in school we had the Macs with the built in floppy disc, but that’s neither here nor there. Apple’s targeting of educational institutions is nothing new, and part of the reason why they’ve enjoyed so much success above their industry peers. While the price tag is about 200 clams less than what the general public can buy for, there is a slight sacrifice made with respect to the speed of the machine. Will Apple start gracing your campus in the near future and, more importantly, will you start lobbying for them to add the discounted iMac?
