The Grateful Dead’s Jerry Garcia: Man, Myth, Legend & Missed By All (RIP)

It was on this day in 1995 when the world lost a musical icon named Jerry Garcia. (Yes, there is a Ben & Jerry’s ice cream flavor named after this man.) As a member of the Grateful Dead his look was unmistakable: the wild hair, the glasses, the awesome guitar playing. If you haven’t listened to the Dead before, it’s time to start. Check out some of their most famous songs below. And if you’re already a Deadhead, I will leave you with a quote spoken from the mouth of a child: “Jerry is dead, but he can still make music.” Yes, he can.

“Estimated Prophet”

“Shakedown Street”

“Friend of The Devil”

“Box of Rain”

“Casey Jones”

“Uncle John’s Band”
