Apple Is Officially The Most Valuable Company In The World

Yes, you read that right. Sync up your iPods, take a picture with your iPhone, and tell a friend to tell a friend on your iPad 2, because Apple is now the most valuable company, not just in the country or North America, but in the world.

Steve Jobs and Co. officially passed Exxon Mobil Corp. this week to become the new most valuable company in the world. Thanks to a monumental crash of the stock market, the falling price of gas, and Apple’s loyal crew of fanboys, the technology company is now worth roughly $341.5 billion dollars, which means that it ranks just a few hundred thousand dollars ahead of Exxon Mobil Corp. at the moment. However, many analysts think that Exxon Mobil’s stock will continue to plummet in the days, weeks, and months ahead, which means the gap between Apple and Exxon Mobil may continue to widen over that time period. As a result, Apple will continue to hold the exclusive rights to the “Most Valuable Company In The World” name tag.

Now, what does that mean to you? Well, unless you bought stock in Apple 20 years ago, absolutely nothing. But it should. So here are a few of the things that Jobs and the rest of the Apple clan out in Cupertino, Calif. should do to help celebrate their historic moment:

1. Free iPods for all!

Okay, maybe not all. But, at the very least, Apple should be holding some sort of contest right now, whereby they reward their most loyal of customers. Maybe a free iPod to the 100 people who can produce a photo of the original iPod with a copy of Jay-Z and Kanye West‘s Watch The Throne loaded onto it? At this point, they could probably take the hit on a few free ‘Pods. So we say reward your fan base by giving something back to them.

2. An exclusive sneak peak at the iPhone 5.

Apple is notorious for keeping everything under wraps when it comes to new products. But maybe just this ooooone time, they could let the cat out of the bag to show that they’re appreciative for all the love and support we’ve given them over the years? It’d be a great PR move that would no doubt only help to boost the sales of the iPhone 5 when it comes out later this year.

3. Free 3G service on the iPad 3.

Yeah, yeah, we’re getting greedy now. But, so what? Apple’s got the pull with the cell phone companies to get us free 3G service. We know they do. So we think they should do it.

In reality, we’re probably not getting any of these things. In fact, we’ll be lucky if Apple even acknowledges that they’re officially the richest company in the world. Nonetheless, you’ve still gotta give Jobs and Apple props for outlasting the competition and turning themselves into the company that all other companies around the world look up to. It’s pretty incredible.

Now, can we please get something out of this exciting news, Apple? We’ll be waiting…
