Jennifer Lopez Makes American Idol Decision
Ryan Seacrest got the scoop of course, with American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe telling the radio/TV host this morning that Jennifer Lopez has decided to sign on for the show’s eleventh season.
“I am delighted to say that all three judges, along with the brilliant host of American Idol, are back for the next season,” Lythgoe breathlessly told listeners.
While Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler were almost guaranteed to return, Lopez’s continued relationship with the high-rating show has been debated due to her busy schedule (which includes her own Latin-themed talent reality show in the works), her twins and recent divorce from Marc Anthony. Her paycheck may have sweetened the deal—according to TMZ, Jennifer got a huge bump from $12 million last season to $20 million next season.
