Tick Tock: Rebecca Black Sings “Friday” Live With Katy Perry; Extends Her 15 Minutes Of Fame
Waiting for Rebecca Black‘s 15 minutes of fame to run out is anything but “fun, fun, fun, fun.”
Despite having no singing capability whatsoever, the 14-year-old YouTube sensation continues to infiltrate pop culture piggybacking off the infamous notoriety bestowed upon her by the smash hit single, “Friday”, which debuted with over 16 million views back in March and quickly went viral.
First Katy Perry invited Rebecca to cameo in the high-school themed video for her campy single “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.),” then the “Teenage Dream” singer took it one step further and surprised her fans at the Nokia Theater in LA by inviting Rebecca onstage for a two-minute impromptu duet of “Friday” creating another video that will likely go viral, as well. After the mockery, umm, singing stopped, Katy gave her tiny protege a big hug, saying “That was our moment. We love you, Rebecca. Dammit, I love the Internet.”
Speaking of “moments”, the video for her second single “My Moment” has topped over 22 million hits with nearly 2 million of those views happening in just 24 hours and Rebecca capped off the week with a mash-up performance of “My Moment,” and “Friday” on this week’s results episode of America’s Got Talent.
Oh, the irony.
Check out Rebecca’s latest performances below. Dammit we love the Internet, too, Katy!
