Basketball Wives: Los Angeles Shaping Up To Be An Even Bigger Mess Than Its Miami Predecessor

Basketball Wives: Los Angeles
is shaping up to be one hot mess of a reality show…and I’ll be there to catch every drama filled episode!! The LA cast includes Draya Michele, a rumored former stripper and video vixen who counts Chris Brown and several professional athletes as romantic conquests, and Laura Govan, who allegedly carried on an affair with Shaquille O’Neal while he was still married to Shaunie O’Neal, producer of the original version of the show. That may explain why Shaunie said of the Los Angeles cast in an interview with Ebony/Jet magazine earlier this summer:

“The L.A. cast—there are some wives and fiancés, which I’m fine with. But there’s a little bit of trash kind of sprinkled into that cast that I’m totally against. I was really very hands off with that cast.”

Be careful Shaunie…you may have been “hands off” with the Los Angeles cast, but a few of them (particularly Ron Artest‘s wife, Kimsha) look like they’ll be hands on with you if you keep taking shots. Speaking of “hands on,” judging by the commercial that’s currently airing on VH1, Basketball Wives: LA doesn’t appear to lack physical altercations between its cast members, a trait it shares with its Miami predecessor. Damn, if this is how the women of Los Angeles and Miami behave, then a Detroit version of Basketball Wives would be down right deadly (no offense Detroit). Basketball Wives: Los Angeles premieres August 29 at 8pm.
